How to Get and Use Your Library Card
Library cards are free! Just stop by the check-out desk at any Sonoma County Library location
and show identification with your current address. There is no charge for the card or for borrowing library materials.
Parents must sign the library card applications for children 17 and under.
Library cards expire every 2 years. To renew your card, visit the check-out desk at your local library and bring current identification. If you owe any library fines or fees, you must pay them in order to renew your card.
You must have your card in order to:
- Check out materials.
- Place holds on reserve.
- Use Library Internet workstations.
- Gain access to databases from outside the Library.
- Access your account.
If your library card is lost or stolen, call the library immediately.
