Virginia Hoffman

Virginia was born in Oregon in 1917 and graduated from Northwestern University. She married during World War II at Camp Pinedale in Fresno, CA, to Robert Hoffman who preceded on July 7, 2002 after 58 years of marriage. An author of more than a dozen epicurean books, many still in print, Virginia was also an interior decorator and international businesswoman. She and her beloved husband spent many years living and working together in El Salvador. Ever the student and teacher, Virginia actively cultivated her interests in indigenous art, especially Mayan and pre-Columbian; contemporary politics; and orchids.
