Paula Cumming Pearce

Paula Pearce is a water conservation activist. In May 2008, Paula Pearce had an epiphany at a community meeting where a geologist talked about wells and water in Sebastopol. Then and there she became an avid water conservation advocate. And that night she had a dream about a book for children. Pearce had been a water baby, winning swimming meets as a youngster, becoming a skilled synchronized swimmer. Her father was the founder of Marin Rowing Association. She went to work for the American Lung Association, designing materials and directing programs for seven counties until her retirement. Water and art have always been her passions, but after that momentous meeting she had a new goal, teaching the next generation how precious water is.
