Ann Tompkins

My early years growing up on a schooner taught me about depending upon and working with others. Those lessons led me to live in an intentional community in Santa Rosa, California. I am one of its former presidents and keep very busy on many of its committees. I have worked on many other boards including one to develop affordable housing and one for the oldest bilingual radio station in the country. Though I have been called a heretic and usually hold a minority opinion, I have never been arrested and am disappointed that I haven't been able to lead people to agreeing with my solutions to the world's problems. Though I have never been hungry and have always had resources, I stand with the masses. My favorite color is blue -- the color of the ocean and the sky that surrounded me when I was young.
