Ann Carranza

Lifelong Sonoma County resident Ann Carranza started writing in the 5th grade. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Sonoma State University in 2009, five years after returning to school at age 50. Currently she writes for the Towns section of the Press Democrat. Her work can be found in two anthologies, Tuesday Morning Memories and Cry of the Nightbird, Writers Against Domestic Violence. Her photographic and work writing have appeared in Healdsburg Tribune, The Christian Science Monitor, Outdoor California and Fremontia. She serves as president of the board of directors of the Healdsburg Literary Guild and is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. When she's not writing, she can be found, camera in hand, chasing creatures that flit, fly, crawl and slither.
