Andrew Anthony Autuori

Andrew Anthony Autuori, born in 1946 in New York City, went to public schools in NYC, moving on to Yonkers, where he graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1964. His education included classical concert piano that gave way to his love of jazz. He also played piano in a pop music combo. His love of the natural world included becoming a decorated Sea Explorer which eventually led to his study of zoology at the University of Hawaii from 1964 to 1968, specializing in ecology and genetics. Immediately after graduation, he traveled to Japan and through Southeast Asia, before arriving in India in the spring of 1969 where he met Ciranjiva Roy. He sat with his teacher until Ciranjiva Roypassed away in 1981. He remains close to the Roy family. His writing began in 2000 with is first piece, "Working for the Government," published by Redd Coral magazine. Also in 2000 Salvo Magazine published the article. "Paradise Changes, 1966." He currently resides in Sonoma County, California, near his daughter, son, daughter-in-law and two young grandsons.
